Mandatory Entry Requirements

• Proof of Sufficient Funds Border officers may ask you to demonstrate you have enough money to cover your stay — typically €65/day for budget travellers, €120/day for others. Bank statements or a credit card are accepted. French Ministry of Foreign Affairs
• Proof of Accommodation You must be able to show where you will be staying — a hotel booking confirmation, a rental agreement, or a "certificat d'hébergement" from a host in France. Attestation d'accueil (official)
• Travel Insurance Schengen visa holders must have travel health insurance covering at least €30,000 valid across the Schengen Area. Even if not required for your nationality, it is strongly recommended. Required documents list
• Return or Onward Ticket Proof of a return or onward flight may be requested at the border to confirm you intend to leave France within your authorised stay period. French Interior Ministry
• ETIAS Authorisation (from 2025) The European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) will require visa-exempt non-EU nationals to obtain pre-travel authorisation online before visiting France and the wider Schengen Area. ETIAS official site
