- Proof of Sufficient Funds Immigration officers may request evidence that you have enough money to cover your stay. Carrying bank statements, a credit card, or traveller's cheques is recommended. There is no fixed official minimum, but demonstrating financial self-sufficiency is required. Ministry of Home Affairs — Foreigners Division
- Proof of Accommodation A confirmed hotel booking or a letter of invitation from a host in India may be requested at the port of entry. Foreign nationals staying with Indian residents should carry a copy of the host's ID and address proof. Indian Visa Online portal
- Travel Insurance Travel health insurance is not legally mandatory for entry into India, but it is strongly recommended. Medical costs for foreign nationals can be high, and comprehensive insurance covering emergency evacuation is advisable. Ministry of Health and Family Welfare
- Return or Onward Ticket Proof of a return or onward flight may be requested at the border or by your airline before boarding. This confirms you intend to leave India before your visa expires. Ministry of Home Affairs
- Biometric Registration (on arrival) Foreign nationals visiting India on a long-stay visa or for employment may be required to register with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) within 14 days of arrival. Check your visa conditions for specific obligations. FRRO online services
